Bing Metal Shako

Due to the amount of interest in seeing the Metal Shako, I am making this different thread with better photos of it.

Dimensions are as follows for just the shell (magnetic):
Height: 6 inches (15 .75 cm)
Length: 9 inches (23.4 cm)
Width: 7 inches (18.3 cm)

Wappen (non-magnetic)
Width: 4 3/4 inches (12.5 cm)
Height: 3 5/8 inches (9.75 cm)

Marked: Gebr. Bing A G Nurnburg

Unfortunately, the liner was removed at some point and the side lugs re-installed upside down. I am on the fence of taking one out of another Bing.

I typically do not post the full file sizes for the sake of server space. If you would like higher resolution photos, PM me.

Ditto what I said on the other thread. I love it, I want it , gotta have it .:ROFLMAO:(y)(y)

Again, Congratulations Gabe, (y)

Bing Helmets hold a special place in my heart. I had and Aunt Rosa who lived in Nürnberg, when I was I child my mom would go to visit and, in the summers, I would go with her. There used to be a toy soldier shop in the old town on the corner and if I was good my aunt would buy me a flat lead soldier there, I would spend an hour just in amazement. In the states we could only get Airfix, and Britian's figures.

So, since they were made by Bing another toy company they really just bring all those childhood feelings back. Anyway, I love em.

To echo the comments above, I have never seen anything like this in 40+ years of collecting. I have owned a Bing haube in the past but this piece is amazing!

Of course I also did not encounter such a metal shako before, but as everybody on this forum has the same reflex it might be one of a kind, maybe the company just made a testprobe and never really got into production phase? Anyway no doubt on its authenticity I think everyone one of us would love to have it in the collection
