Please explain to one who isn't an expert.

As Pickelhauben mentioned the helmet shell, Wappen, trim, and liner are the enlisted type. The spike, spike base, and rear spine are officer type. The chinscales may, or may not, be original, but I doubt that the rosettes are original. The rosette bent tabs appear to be too small but this just may be the photograph. I do see an indication that the helmet might have been a fireman's helmet because there is a square crease in the dome of the helmet shell, but no extra holes seem to be present. The helmet shell may be an enlisted M95 type, it does; however, appear to be re-dyed, inside and out. As far as the Kokarden; well that's just insanity! Even if the Kokarden are authentic, the Reichs Kokarde is on the wrong side. The other Kokarde is from Baden and doesn't match this helmet at all.

This helmet is an accumulation of parts that have been reassembled with no concern toward originality what-so-ever.
Stay clear --- unless you need some parts. Even then, it's overpriced.
