BOOK

Hi Dave, I bought both Bowman books years ago. Unfortunately, we now know there is much misinformation/mistakes in them. The most reliable sources from that era which are still used today are the two volumes written by Jean Louis Larcade....Casques a Pointe in French and L’Armee Allemande en 1914 by Didier Laine. This second book is very handy and has drawings, descriptions of helmets, uniforms, shoulder straps for every unit in the German Army in 1914. The text is in French German and English. It is extremely handy and I bring it with me wherever I go to the SOS in Louisville.

HI b. loree. Thanks for your advice I will buy the two volumes over the week end. I only just started collecting Picklehaubes.
I have always collected ww2 german. So I do need to be steered in the right direction thanks again.

Dave

No problem Dave, we also have a list of references with members comments here on the forum . It may take some time to track these down, the ones I mentioned above.
