We visited the new (2011) Musée de la Grande Guerre-Pays de Meaux near Paris-France
Fine museum ! (on your trip to La Pompelle... :D )
I saw this plate to prepare handgrenades: never saw this !

Would someone have an idea for what type of handgrenades these were used and how (of course) ?

More to follow later (e.g. Imperial German Colonial stuff etc...) from this museum and of the Fort de la Pompelle and Péronne.

Thank you !

Rgds,

Francis,
The plate was for the Eier Grenaten, the pull wire on the igniter would be hooked on the rod to pull it for ignition before throwing. These are rather rare, I have only seen a couple of examples on the market, and they were both ground dug examples.
