I picked up this British 1868 Pattern Cavalry Lance at the recent OVMS show in Wilmington, Ohio. I had seen it at the spring Michigan Antique Arms Show but was short on cash and fortunately my friend still had it two months later. It is a nice lance - made of bamboo and probably is of WWI vintage based on the brown leather strap. Unlike German lances this doesn't have loops to hold an pennon - as British pennons looped over the shaft. Finding one might be a big task however.

Still it is a nice lance, and here it is in front of my British headdress.

Very cool Peter, I still have my Sarco German made Argentinian lance in the war room, they look great.

This is a good foot or so shorter so a tad easier to display and move.

The problem with having a lance is then you need the saddle, bridle and a horse manequine and that really takes up room in the house. Thank goodness I can not remember where I put my McClellen saddle
