British Colonial Headdress

I recently added a couple of pieces to my colonial forces headdress from around the British Empire - this includes my fezzes, turbans, slouch hats, shakos and now a conical hat.

The conical hat is the type used by Chinese militia including the Hong Kong Police.

Very nice!
Which era would that conical hat be?

The conical hat is actually a "reproduction" based on period photos. These were worn circa 1890 to 1910 but I doubt ANY survived. These were worn with large badges... this badge being a "Queen's Crown" so pre-1901. I found a vintage conical hat that is the style used in Hong Kong. It is as close as I will ever get I'm sure, but it looks the part.

Even museums in Hong Kong only have photos.
