British OR Home Service Helmet

Here is a pre-SOS pick-up. This is an Oxfordshire Light Infantry Home Service Helmet. Interestingly, other ranks helmets (which this one is) are actually much less common than the officer's examples. As the soldiers had to turn these in, and the helmets were reissued most were very well used.

Likewise the British Army saw fit to reuse the parts but crushed the bodies at some points. This example features the 1881 Pattern front plate, with the Imperial Crown for Queen Victoria.

What was the price of the Canadian helmet if I might ask, and do you know how I could get in touch with the dealer? I've wanted a Canadian example for some time.

I actually just bought more display cases today too! :D
