Hi

Once again, one of the most rare pickelhaube: a IR92 trooper helmet.

This is the second one on E bay France since February.

Nevertheless, it looks good and needs more information and details(double holes,....as usually). The rear black ink marking looks good. I am not sure that "III...B.." means 3rd Bat but certainly means the condition of the helmet (I, then II, then III...).

And unfortunately the seller is not present until the 4th of May (as he stated).

Always look at the back of the plate. This does not give me warm and fuzzy. Rare helmet that we have seen with brand new ink marks once before. Caution!!!
 
At first sight I do not like this 92. I.R. marking...
The condition of the helmet is described as exceptional by the seller, whereas it is rather mediocre...

The seller has recently added: "black markings were checked with alcoohol solution and they didn't disappear";

We are still waiting for a picture of the rear of the Wappen.

I asked for more pics of the wappen and markings. The seller told me that he coulde't give me more pics because his son was on a long journey and he is the only one who knows how to use the camera!!

Hmm, seems like he is not interested in giving me some close ups. Wonder why!?

The spike looks to be a little to long between the base and where the vents are ,just before the spke top. Alot of reopops in europe like that now. I might be wrong ,I am looking at my M95 and it looks like a2" space and the one on the JR92 piece looks like 31/2" high.

I am interesting in your explanation about repros of M1895 spike: could you be more precise and use centimeters?

Wow! €2,060,00. No additional pictures and no returns policy, at least that's what I was told, and yet people are confident enough to blow this kind of money on a pig in a poke? And the bidding looked dodgy too. It's idiotic. :drunken:
 
The one I remember was very similar except the mark was clearly suspect. It went for $2200.

This should be a normal price for a genuine one. I even paid a little more than that for mine... but I never regreted it!

Hi Otto, I think you're right. Thank's for the marking shot, Joe - I see what you mean. Hey Bruno, could we see your IR92 sometime?

I guess that the only way to score one of these things is by hanging around parking lots after military show's. Word has it that there's a confused old guy driving around with a carload of 'em!

Or maybe it was the mushrooms on that pizza? 8-[
 
Hey Mike, the real funny part of that story is that Randy and Tony could not find the old guy's car until he mentioned that he had one of these in his trunk, then they were able to drive right to the car, even though the old guy had given them the discription of his last car and it looked nothing like the one he was driving that day. I think they could smell it from across the park lot.

Did anyone actually see this helmet? I heard it from several sources but it's just that it sounds like one of those 'big fish' stories?
