Is was first this regiment but is was crossed out so the owner was reasigned to
Klg sachsen 8 F.A.R.nbr 78 the second time

Great markings and rarely found on buckles.

Yes, first unit marked buckle I have seen.

I have seen a few marked buckles, but this is the first that I have seen with two markings, very nice. Did you find in at a battle site? According to my books, this regiment did not see service in the east.

I agree, this regiment was part of XIX Armeekorps which served until the end of the war at the western front.

sold on Polish auction. Poland was part of the Russian Empire. So it's eastern front

I suspect it was reissued to yet another regiment that did not mark it, anyway, it is a very interesting buckle.

I thought I would post my marked buckle, it is a regular Württemberg buckle, but stamped of the bottom is: 120R11C.

BTW the boxes are marked 120R1888 IIIB
