Calamity Jane or Annie Oakley

Josef Novak came up with the name calamity Jane which is from the USA wild West shows but there is something about this picture. Who/what are these guys? Is this some sort of a theater group? Are they for real? Look at those white shoes.

OK, so why is momma packin the pistole and carying a riding crop, dads got this huge paper rose in his lapel and juniour is wearing a Garde officer tunic with adjutant chords??? Bizzare foto but I like it. My first reaction is theatrical....mom is also wearing a colonial hut turned sideways check out the kokarde holding the feathers.

I think junior is wearing a Schutztruppe officers 1897 home uniform with parade aguilette cords, similar to this NCO version-

He is however wearing his hat back to front, with the turn up cockade on the left rather than right...

Looks to me as a theatre company (cabaret?, vaudeville etc.) or being dressed for the occassion of carnaval or a dressed party. Marvellous picture, anyway.
