Hello,

Is this a Fireman helmet made from a re-worked war surplus helmet?

I've never seen a label with a rank title like this one. Same goes for his unit below the name. Can anyone translate this?

The rank comes from a worker in a Bekleidungs Amt.

The bottom unit is Reserve Bekleidungs Amt 21.

The tag looks good but I think that helmet is not for me.

We have already seen a helmet like this one on the forum...
Joe is obviously right. The term "Detonomiehandwerker" remains mysterious though. Detonomie is a word you find in old written German documents, but I have been unable to find a translation. Perhaps someone will be smarter than me...

As far as I can find these were conscripts, employed in the Bekleidungsämter to use their civilian skills such as tailor, cobbler, sailmaker, saddlemaker, etc.

Thank you Lars. This makes more sense than my lousy interpretation! In fact I could not figure out that the first letter was O, and not D... I must improve my reading of gothic German...
