casque a pointe Garde Prussien Modèle 15

At first I thought it looked ok, but then I noticed RBA18 stamp. This stamp seems odd to me because there were no garde regiments in the 18 army corps to my knowledge. Perhaps I am wrong here, but what do you think about it?

I think this helmet is totally legit. The stamp RBA18 with a Garde eagle would represent Eisenbahn-Regt. Nr.2 (Hanau) XVIII Amry Corp. in my opinion its a nice M15 Eisenbahn helmet.

This one went overboard in my (very very humble) opinion... $1,800+ is way too much wouldn't you agree.
Now I'm really glad mine cost me $1k all in. :)

(I can already 'hear' Ron saying he got his back in the 70s for $20 but that's OK  )

That depends. To say that a helmet is only worth one price doesn't make much sense, you have to factor in condition, fittings and stamps in the case of EM helmets. M15s are very popular and I have seen these go for various prices. Also this helmet with its stamps is very rare and with that stamp it can really only be a Eisenbahn helmet. Then again I am bias to this helmet since I was the winning bidder. :thumb up:

Congrats then!
I thought however you'd be over eBay now that you moved to Pickelhaubenland.
Awaiting the nice photos when it comes!

Congratulations with this nice helmet. I was not completely sure about its authenticity and I am glad that you guys confirmed that it is and thanks for teaching me something here =D> Thats the main reason why I like this forum! By the way, I was never considering to make a bid on this one because 1400 euro's is way out of my league.

Edwin
