Rgds,

You 2 are lucky Francis! I have a feeling there's nicer German 'stuff' in Belgium than in Germany itself!

If you find me a good complete M15 EM Lachmann or a Prussian EM Feldzeichen, would you let me know? Even a couple of M15 (steel) leather chinstraps would be great :-"

Enjoy! Awaiting your usual mug shot! :)

Ron,

Will keep my eyes open.

Hope to meet some Belgian branch "Wild :army: Bunch" members. Ok: the Dutchmen; are allowed; but they have to pay a fine beer first...(no thank you...Heineken is NO beer)-Others are welcome as well: same procedure...

Rgds,
Francis

I'll hold a copy of The Times under my left arm. 8)

I spotted no Lachmann and only one fake Prussian Feldzeichen...
Had a great time in the Ciney region (the Condroz).
Fine B & B and great food and beer
The fair:
Loads of stuff: from the Eastern front WW II Battlefields..all rusty...pieces of tracks from armored vihicles etc... :-# ...
I spotted lot's of bad headgear.
I spotted some fine Hauben as well...
I've not seen the Weitze table...
"Patina" (from Hamburg/like Weitze) had some fine headgear on display. I spotted a great Baden FeldArtillerie Officers Kugelhelm !!
Anyone knows Mr Karsten Ritscher from Patina ? Good experiences...? Please PM me your opinion.

When leaving Ciney we had to stop behind a car that blocked the road on top of a bridge...socialising with some "locals"... I knew I saw that face before...combined with the logo on the car....

Had a fine meal in an Italian restaurant in Anhée later on. I thought I recognised another member of the Belgian :army: branch there as well.

No pics from the fair. Sorry.
I'll post some pics from the Dinant Citadel armory later on.
They had some Hauben.
Great artillery on the walls pointing to the Meuse river.
Even a WWII 20mm German Flak gun.

Rgds,
Francis

Ron,

No Ron...I told "The Missus" I have not enough space to display a new Haube... :-?
So not this time !
Regards,
Francis

I took some shots , I had a great time too , … it was a very “interesting” day.

Of course I was there too... and guess what... I bought 2 extremely hard to find pieces of headgear :D . An officers IR 93 haube and a Mecklemboug Tschako. I will post pictures of them seperately later...

Seems like all rubbish!!
Says some one who couldn't go... ](*,) ](*,) :D
Very curious to see what you guys got!!

Karel: Pretty sure these helmets were in great shape too. Looking forward to your pics.

Ed: Nice pics! Is that a Lachmann with its tail missing in the top right photo? #-o

Yes Ron ,but the tail is not missing ,it’s hidden behind the shelf stick .The helmet was actually in good shape. A Frenchman had it for sale,he said it was from a friend ,price tag ; € 2800 :smilebox:

So, is Ciney a pretty good show for Imperial? I hope to make it over for Kassel this November for the first time.

Inside the Citadelle hand-to-hand fighting took place on August 15th 1914 between French and German troops.

And this is a very special monument, erected by the Germans; close to the entrance gate:
I assure you, it is special.

"Hier ruhen die Reste von 12 Deutschen und 58 Französischen Soldaten, gefallen am 15.8.1914, eingeäschert am 27.August 1914"

"Ici reposent les cendres de 12 soldats allemands et 58 soldats français, tombes le 15.8.1914, brules le 27.8.1914.

*MORTUS PRO PATRIA*

On this spot rest the ashes of 12 German and 58 French soldiers that fell in the fighting of August 15th. Burned and burried on this spot on August 27th 1914.
