Collector Billy Wilder

I found this fascinating photo of director Billy Wilder sporting one of his helmets. He was renowned for his wry and even wicked sense of humor that he brought to his films. I lived down the street from him in Westwood, LA in the 1980's and used to see him waiting for his car out back of his apartment building occasionally. I wish I had known that he collected. He's buried across the street.

Great document! I did not know he was into helmets. I did not know he was living in Westwood either, where I spend a good part of my life (UC).
