Colonial Helmet

OK, I am glad everything worked out. Do you or Corky have a 1st war Wolseley? http://www.kaisersbunker.com/cef/headgear/cefch18.htm I assume this pattern was used by the Brits as well?

I have a few Wolseley helmets. I prefer the earlier pattern Foreign Service Helmets, but I like the Wolseley a lot too.

And Tony I think the British would say the Canadians used it as well! The helmet did take the name of Field Marshal Lord Wolseley. He didn't design it, but he liked them and that's how it gained the name.

Here is my earliest Wolseley:

Here are photos of my Italian tropical police. That is S.P.Q.C. under the elephant.

Very interesting helmets. Are there any maker stamps? I've never seen a Belgian helmet, so that's quite fascinating.

Do some Italian pith's have the Large Tri colour tossette on them ? I have seen a picture of a Berglerasi from the 1890's His seemed to be done to the 9's.
Tony the Ontario's have 2 of the WW1 Wollselly's they are officer's and have a green felt linning under the outer rim .
The belgian ones are interesting . Nice pieces Corky.
