Color of Officers Silk Liner

Hey Guys,

There has been a lot of officer's type helmets on ebay.

The majority have been parts helmets and most of them have been pay officers.

In almost all of these helmets the silk liner has been green !

Is this just a coincidence or were the pay masters helmets made with the green silk liner.

Almost all of the plates had the tiny eagle wappen as well.

As they should have.

That's a good question. I always thought it was up to the person buying it and had heard that 'white liners were for nobility', but then I've seen exceptions to that one! However, I don't know about the green.

:D Ron

I think green and brown were the most common colours, but honestly I've seen original liners in almost every colour under the sun! Pink, blue with spots, yellow...

Funny, in my experience the beige has been the most common. I did do a post on this topic with the help of Randy Trawnik from Age of Kings. I suppose the photos were lost, I will check.

The guy I bought several helmets from these past months has a Baden artillery officer, with a Pink liner.
It was the first one I saw with a pink liner, but green I did see several times. But the beige ones I saw the most..

My pictures were lost on my original post, I will track them down and repost. The most surprising colour that I had never seen was black, which again it was from one of Randy's helmets.
