Comparing Pre-1915 to post-1915 Pickelhauben

I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can show comparisons of Pre-1915 Pickelhauben in silver of brass, beside the same Pickelhauben in the M1915 steel fittings.

Posting rules: please only post photos in this thread if you have the pre-1915 and the post-1915 side-by-side. And please make the photos 800 pixels in width.

Well I have to admit I was going to say the same thing as Chas and only show the one other one I have which is the Hessians, but took Tony's advice and will show more, it was actually fun getting them all down, besides, gave me a chance to dust them off

Hessian OYV or Private purchase and a late model M15 with rounded spike, still looking for the early fluted type!

Bot Are Prussian Train helmets, both marked to the 8th train battalion

My thanks to Tony for posting these pictures. Both bavarian helmets are marked to 8 Fd. Art. Reg. Note the difference in front plate sizes. The 1915 Oldenburg helmet is well marked OJR91 inside the shell, which is noticeable for a '15 model. The JR92 is a 1891 model, with the correct cockade for that vintage. Its rear visor markings have been posted earlier on the forum. Congratulations again to Tony for initiating this great thread.
