Comparison of M95 real to repro.

On pgs, 32-33 of the June 2006 Military Trader there is an article by Charles Pautler comparing a real Gd OR M95 to a line Prissian OR M95 reproduction made by Schipperfabrik.

Experienced collectors can spot the problems very quickly but I thought it instructive the way Paulter lined up the photos and explanations. He missed a few things but thought he did a credible job that is well worth looking at. The publisher always tries to minimize pictures in lieu of text but this comparison seemed instructive and useful. Reproductions are getting better.

There are many makers of Repro of Picklehaubes and other headgear.
Shiffer is a nice guy ,but he orders his from europe I have another supplier for re-enacting .Most are easy to pick apart but it's putting them in the wrong hands .
The Tcshapka that Shiffer imports are really well made and would not tke alot to fake them up .
Thanks for the Article Reference Joe . The first giveaway should be the wirght .Most that i have held or seen are Heavier than originals .Then there are fely haubes that is when I give up .
