Converted Grenadier Plate.

It's a shame when someone is prepared to ruin something to make a few more buck's.

Mikey not sure these were original in the 1st place. Even the tail of the Prissian line is not voided.

Well spotted, Joe. It did cross my mind that these might be bogus, but I had not noticed that solid tail. I think you're right. Voided crown's and antler's on the Wurttemburg which seems strange for M15 stock?

Yes agreed. I Think he is trying to call it silver but I don't know. Interestingg to read the feedback. Some folks like his helmets.

It's weird, Joe. What do you think of that Mecklenburg-Schwerin helmet at the top of the feedback column? "Alles OK" is the purchaser's response, the poor sod. What about the non-flute spike, and is'nt that the impression of a Prussian line eagle on the front of the shell? And what the hell is with that state cockade?

I regard these plates with the super gold finish on them especially on the back side to be modern reproductions. Joe and I ran into a German dealer at the SOS who had 5 or 6 of these from various states. He was asking "original" prices but the finish is just too bright to be the real thing. One finds that even the screw posts have the same bright finish on them. The solder is a dark grey. I sold a Prussian Officer one as a repro on Ebay 2 months ago. Brian

I think we all get taken sometime. I'd never have anything off this bloke, not even if he was giving it away. Any clue to the German dealer's ID, Brian - for future reference?
