Any comments on this piece ,constructive ones please .Always wanted Curassier helmet .Other than the interior is it kosher?
Thanks
Mark

Without mistake it's not a cuirassier but a dragon helmet and not an officier one. Otherwise it looks good.

Indeed a trooper and not an officer. The top screw is missing. Ask the seller for presence of engraved markings on the rear of the helmet to ensure that:
it is a dragoon and not a Cuirassier helmet
it is not a current Garde Républicaine re-assembly with older garnaments.....

Hi Mark,
I agree with the guys about the helmet, but if you are thinking in bidding on, be careful. Two bad signs:
1) The seller is new and with 0 feedbacks.
2) This bidder, jaybenz2005, 0 feedabcks. It seens that type of guy who make the bids grow up.
I would pass...
Otto

Again I think this will pass into a don't buy .
Thanks for the input

Mark,
Anytime you see a first time ebayer from Germany use a phrase like "Remarkably showy and historic WWI French headgear sadly archaic", you have another big red flag.
So, I stuck that phrase into GOOGLE and guess what?? Lookee here, there is another place that EXACT phrase was used. Look at the 5th helmet down. :x

I reported this to eBay. Hopefully they'll kick the seller!

Seller was kicked.. :D
But I'm sure he'll be back with another "too good to be true". :x

Hi,

If you want to see a good one, cleaned but with genuine markings

I thought Both Dragoon and Currassier helmets were the same design .this was designed to save cost's I seem to remember this was done at the start of the war .then they both got th ugly version of the m15 .
Tanks for the thoughts and views
Mark.G. :D
