Did Anyone...

Gentlemen,

What were the issues with this particular helmet? The shell looked good. Was the wappen bad? Thanks in advance.

It's a nice M1915 shell but not worth $1675.

The problems that I see are:

1) No liner.

2) The wappen is conviniently missing the loop that would show it doesn't fit the helmet correctly.

3) Some one was working very hard and very poorly to get the original wappen mounting nuts off. Notice the bulge in the middle of the right wappen postern hole, formed bythe thread of wappen mount as it was forced into the helmet.

4) The wappen isn't looking too good.

I've asked for more photos of the reverse of the Adler plate ,it seems the loops have been resoldered (bad), the plate has also poor details on back.
So, a good shell but highly discutable LeibKürassier plate, at this price its almost a swindle ! :-P

Thanks Gents. Interesting. I have not had very much experience with this particular wartime wappen.

Bryan.

Neither do I nor did Lester. http://www.pickelhauben.net/articles/M15%20Steel.html

I have been told recently of a German collector, who can substantiate existence of the wappen. No details and no picture.
