Just in today. This D R 9 helmet. As many of you that follow AOK , this is were the helmet came from.
I think Randy gave it a very honest review, so I will just post his write up. The gromets are close together
and the loops on the helmet plate back are also close together. So , I just anted to give it a try.

Hanoverian 9th Dragoon Regiment (1st Hanoverian Dragoon Regt.-Koenig Carl I of Romania) Enlisted Man Model !892- after January 24, 1899. From an old collection. This is a RARE and very unusual helmet that is “as found” from a collection that dates back to the 1950’s. Heavy black lacquered leather helmet body with subdued brass trim. No major flaws and no extra holes in helmet body. The helmet body remains in overall excellent shape and form. Square front visor trim with firm stitching. Brass spike base with regulation pearlring maintained by 4 round/split brads retained by nuts. Smooth removable spike that is the proper pattern for Dragoons (see picture).
The Frontplate is the post-January 24, 1899 Enlisted Hanoverian Dragoon Eagle with the banners “Peninsula-Waterloo-Gohrde” to commemorate this regiments service in the Kings German Legion during the Napoleonic Wars. The frontplate is brighter than the trim. This is expected due to the different metal used in the making of this frontplate and its late issue after this helmet had already seen years of service. The frontplate is held to the helmet body by original leather wedges. Inside has the original black dyed leather lining. Liner is a little dry from age and wear. Back visor with remains of markings inside (see photos). The markings are faded and cannot be easily read (see last paragraph). Original set of convex M1895 rounded chinscales over original EM cockades.
We feel that this helmet and the frontplate is a put together piece. That stated, it has obviously been in a collection since the 1950’s and has not been disturbed. The grommeted holes for the frontplate are quite narrow. The frontplate is original and now on the helmet. The posts are in the proper position.
Is this helmet an original piece? We cannot say for sure. It is a rare and uncleaned dragoon helmet from an elite regiment.
We have modified the price to make this helmet an attrative buy for the collector.D R 9 a.pngD R 9 c.pngD R 9 b.pngD R 9 d.png

I particularly like this Hanoverian Dragon regiment, garrisoned in Metz (Lorraine), by decision of Wilhelm I, from 1873! The DR9 particularly distinguished itself in the charge of the Bredow Brigade between Rezonville and Gravelotte.
Here is my model M67, which fought on 16 August 1870, during the charge of the Adalbert von Bredow Cavalry Brigade between Mars-La-Tour and Vionville. DR 9 M67 avt 94 - 99.jpgDR 9 M67 aigle de Dragon prussien.jpgDR 9 M67 nominatif.jpg
I'd had this M67 in my collection for several decades. But I was looking for an M94 with post side and M94/99 with Hanoverian victory banners. As luck would have it, I found this helmet last year.

The eagles, already in place in 1898, were completed by adding banners after January 99.
My eagle is a later one, mounted new on a new helmet. The banners are one with the eagle, a new, modified print die.

Also shown that I failed to comment about ; 2 metal caps for the foul weather covers for the flags.
On the left for a unit ho had the 1870 Iron Cross pole top. The one on the right is for a unit that was not
in the 1870 / 71 Franco - Prussian War .Their pole top was a cypher .
