I don't like the liner so will put in a nicer original one.

Normally, I would suggest to leave the helmet as is, but I agree with you because I think this liner isn’t original. The slit is not directed towards the middle of the front/back and I don't think that any helmet was so carelessly made back then.

I like dragoon helmets so this one was love at first sight.

The liner was glue and not well glued.

The silk canvas is original though, so I will spend some time to do it next month.
