Dunkelblau Bavarian Visor

I have a soft spot for visors. While I have a nice collection of WW2 I've been slowly adding Imperial when I find them at decent prices.

This example is pretty run of the mill but still a nice clean example. Name written twice. Once under the sweatband and another on time on the liner. Unfortunately I haven't been able to translate

Maybe a fairly common branch of service but it's certainly not in "run of the mill" condition. Every Imperial helmet collection has to have at least one visor cap.

Thanks Gents for the kind comments. Yes "common" does not necessarily mean undesirable. LoL.

I'm sure a collector could just focus on these alone without ever running out of all the variations!

Now that's a lovely cap - classic example of the gabardine material favored by the Bavarians (I'm with Tony as a fan of these) and a nice Bavarian blue! 👍

Thanks Jeff. Got this a few years back at a small local show. No Imperial collectors there so it was just sitting and was able to negotiate a good deal

A quite nice cap. I am very fond of visor caps, this one has a bit of that "saddle" shape" and I'll echo the sentiment that just because it's common does not mean it's not a great piece.

Thanks. It is very reminiscent to the classic "Saddle Form" shape of WW2 German visors, which to me are the nicest style made.

One correction. I actually got this one at the 2021Max Show. One of my Prussian examples was from a local show.
