There are a series of publications that you might be interested in that come out of California. I have subscribed for years and find them to be fun. I have not gone to the national convention in several years but if you are interested in these you can contact the editor Mike Hanlon. MH <[email protected]>

3. There is some confusion as to what comes with a subscription to the St. Mihiel Trip-Wire since I edit other World War I periodicals.

a. The Trip-Wire is online only, and (best of all) is free. It serves as the newsletter of the World War One Historical Association and is my personal site for providing information on my battlefield tours and publishing interests. I also occasionally accept advertisements on a case by case basis. If you object to these personal or commercial aspects, please let me know and I will stop mailing announcements to you.

b. The Journal of the World War One Historical Association 48 pages, bw, with illustrations and maps, is published quarterly and is available only to members of the Association. It is delivered either in printed form ($49 annual dues) or electronically as a pdf document at a discounted price ($39/yr). Membership information in the WW1HA can be found at:

c. Over the Top, is my own monthly magazine that I have published since 2007, 10-16 pages, full color maps and illustrations. Annual subscriptions are $25. It is delivered upon first publication electronically as a pdf document. Annual compilations of all our past issues with special features are available on CDs. Just respond to this email if you would like further information about Over the Top.

Presents:
The Fall 2012 World War I History Symposium!
Saturday 10 November – Fort George G. Meade Museum - Maryland
Join Us For An Exciting Day-Long Program Featuring Displays, Discussions And The Following World War I History Presentations:
“American Lions: The 332nd Infantry Regiment in Italy in World War I” : Robert J. Dalessandro, Chief of the US Army’s Center of Military History, presents the story of the American Doughboys who fought in Italy in 1918 – based on his recent book.
“East Africa 1914-1918” : Instead of the anonymous mass slaughter elsewhere, East Africa witnessed individual achievements and improvisation in a secondary theater that nonetheless effected the lives of millions. Often misidentified as guerrilla warfare, how much was an exception to the 1914-1918 experience? Presented by Dr. Corey Reigel of East Liberty University.
“Let Slip the Dogs of War” : Fort Meade Museum Exhibits Specialist Barbara Taylor examines the many roles in which dogs were employed by the armies of WWI.
“Kaiser Wilhelm: Armistice and Retirement” : What were the final years for one of WWI’s most notorious personages like? Retired US Army LTC Mike Rauer transports us from Spa, Belgium, Wilhelm’s headquarters, to Doorn, Holland, as he recounts “the rest of the story” for Imperial Germany’s Emperor in exile.
“Blacker’s Boys: An Infantry Battalion of the 36th (Ulster) Division 1914-1919 : With origins in the Irish home rule crises beginning in 1912, the 9th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers went to France taking part in the battles of the Somme, Third Ypes, Cambrai, and the German Offensive of 1918, ultimately finishing the war “in the line” – though greatly transformed. Retired British Army Colonel Nick Metcalfe recounts their story – based on his new book.
The symposium will also feature refreshments, door prizes, tours of the museum, a Branch-sponsored WWI used/out-of-print book sale, and an optional buffet lunch at the Fort Meade Officers’ Club !

I would follow the link to over-the-top. This is a heck of a great electronic magazine and it is really cheap. 25 bucks for a year. You can buy individual back issues or CDs from the year. In my opinion, very good deal.
