Your excellency, it is my honor in regards to my correspondence of 22 July 1916. Nr.624.7.16.B3.B to inform you of the following:
It has proven necessary to extract shellac from the old felt spike helmet for use by the munitions industry. I intend to direct the clothing issue repair depots to no longer send unusable felt helmets to the material recycling stations in prisons and instead to put these at the disposal of the war raw materials section.
If you excellency is in agreement with this, I would like to request you to direct the prisons to send these felt spike helmets to the war materials section.
