I'm a big fan of Ersatz, because they're so different in the way they're made: cardboard, cork, felt, aluminium, tombac, steel, etc... I'll do a file for each of the materials used, starting with Vulkanfiber:
1---Here is a ‘troop’ helmet made during mobilisation. The visor and neck cover are riveted with a spray gun. The 3 pieces are made of Vulkanfiber, (wood powder, agglomerated with resin, a bit like bakelite).
It's the one on the left, and you can see a rivet in the photo. The other will be seen later.


Helmet in very good condition, little worn, Depaheg brand, known for making Ersatz.
