ERSATZ vulcanised fibre tip helmets

I'm a big fan of Ersatz, because they're so different in the way they're made: cardboard, cork, felt, aluminium, tombac, steel, etc... I'll do a file for each of the materials used, starting with Vulkanfiber:

1---Here is a ‘troop’ helmet made during mobilisation. The visor and neck cover are riveted with a spray gun. The 3 pieces are made of Vulkanfiber, (wood powder, agglomerated with resin, a bit like bakelite).

Fantastic and rare helmets. First time I have ever seen a monocoque example. Thanks for posting them here Thierry.

Best Wishes,

Alan
