Is somebody thinking of stripping that thing down and trying to paint it? If so, it seems a better solution to stabilize the rust and display it as is.

the only thing i would do is now en then clean the dust of and thats it
if the rust is stabil then leave it like it is
by painting it or sommthing you destroy it
it is wat it is (part of our history)
