For a quick look-up of basic facts on most 'haubes, this book is one of the best:

It is now out of print. The only other copy I could find is on amazon.de at EUR200.0 so this doesn't look like too bad a deal.

Hey Laurie,

I had the one on Ebay.com on watch before you mentioned it here. It went for $200.28 in the end. So not wishing to miss out on a reasonable price I snagged the other one on Ebay.de at the "Buy-it-now" price of $129.98.

Thanks for giving the heads up on that one in Germany, now mine.
 
I've just received the copy of "Militärische Kopfbedeckungen der Kaiserzeit" that I bought from Laurie's heads up. You were all right .... I haven't put it down since I unwraped it. I can see me turning into a but it's worth it to get hold of this sort of knowledge.
