Thanks Bruno,I have a Suzuki SV650S,(sporty v-twin),for regular riding,and an old Honda CB450K1,from 1969,wich I restored and use only on nice day's,and a Jawa 350,from 1977,on wich I am still busy doing the wiring.. I know it's off-topic,but here are some pic's. I also like old cars,restored some nice one's in the past,Ford Escort Mk1,in rally-trim and BMW 2002Tii,I think you are into Porsches,am I right?911's are nice,especially the older ones..Greeting's,Coert.

Great! The CB450 and the Jawa are real collector bikes! Congratulations.
I do like cars but practically, I am much more into bikes. I actually ride a motorcycle every day...
Bruno

Thanks Bruno,I am also much more into bikes,in fact I only have a driver-license for my car because my wife could'nt stand it anymore, riding in the snow, rain or cold [-X .I also commute to work every day on my suzuki,I have a small car for shopping etc.I also had british ones,BSA,Norton and the like.Once I had a Harley, but this was not for me,I'm more sports oriented. And I like old bikes, and fiddling with them. What do you ride? Greetz,Coert. :thumb up:

I ride a Kawasaki ZZR 1400. I also have a ZZR 1200. I used to ride a 6-cyl 1300, a long time ago. I rode all sorts of BMWs, boxers and 4-cyl, Triumphs, including a 68 Bonneville, Suzuki GSXRs...
I do not have much time anymore to ride on long distances but I would not use anything but the bike for daily commuting. I really suffer when I have to drive the car and get stuck in the traffic (the car doesn't like it either...).

A collegue of me at work bought a ZZR1400 2 month's ago,a white one.He had a Honda Hornet before that, and also commutes every day on it.No traffic jam's when you are on a bike, but you have to be careful filtering here, some car-drivers don't use mirrors or just hate you because they wait while you go by....I still have the craving of owning a Z900 one day... [-o<

From a Hornet to a ZZR 1400!!! This is a challenging move.
I'm afraid Brian will start yelling at us soon, reminding us that we are here to talk exclusively about spike helmets, not motorbikes...
I will still try to post a picture.

Exactly......just a couple of Dudes discussing their bikes, no problem! This is the Social part of the forum. I must state that I am surprised Bruno, in a good way, that you ride a motorcycle to work. Everyone knows about LA's infamous traffic, so I guess it makes total sense. Do you ride one when you are in the UK as well? However, take care both of you when riding these things. I enjoy the protection of my Dodge Grand Caravan. :)

WoW! Nice JAWA! It was my dream in childhood. I know one man who have the same JAWA with sidecar in original condition.

No worries Brian,I have been riding them for over 32 years now,it makes you anticipate a lot more than car-drivers,just because you are so vulnerable on a bike.I live in the west of the Netherlands, wich is also very known for traffic jam's wich start at 5 a çlock in the morning until about 8,and in the afternoon they start at 4,and last until 6.....Leone,I also liked the 350 JAWA when I was young, but never bought one,had a 125 JAWA-Perak oneday..Did you know that lots of east europeans are buying their JAWA's back again? Here in the Netherlands they get exported back to the east.Still a lot left here, parts available from the club and a section on our Forum(in the Netherlands that is).Have a nice evening, :thumb up:

You are absolutely right, Brian. I save hours commuting on the bike in LA, plus free parking and other advantages... As a reminder, California is the only state where you can "filter", that means share lanes with cars, and when you meet with 5 miles of automobiles stopped bumper to bumper on Santa Monica freeway you are happy to be on your two wheels... And yes, I do the same when I am in the UK. Many drive a car daily and own a motorbike as a toy, for me it is the other way around...

:thumb up: For me it's quite the same, saves time getting home, and the joy of driving! 4 wheels move the body,2 wheels move the soul, have a nice evening,Coert.

:thumb up: JAVA bike was the most popular in the USSR, it was a dream

We had JAWA bikes here in Canada in the 1960's, they had a unique sound going by and when I asked.....what was that?? I was told a JAWA. I have a musician friend who is a bike collector, I will ask him about those bikes being in Canada. He races his vintage bikes which includes a Rudge from the UK.

And the Jupiter sovjet bike. Amlways had to be carefull when standing still at a cross road before leting go the clutch that the engine didn't rotated in the opposite direction, it resulted in having all gears in reverse.....
