Finally, a pickelhaube has come up for sale from my grandfather's regiment (FAR 47)!

Of course, he was with 4. Batterie rather than 6. Batterie, but who's counting?

I am not going to go for it, as I just renovated my kitchen, and there went the pickelhaube money. Can folks have a look and tell me if this looks right to them? I am in no way insinuating anything is wrong, I just want to know for future reference what I should be looking at and for, should another one come along when I am not broke...

Although perfectly legal I never like this phrase and -to me- it always rings a little bell:

"da dies ein Privatverkauf ist erfolgt dieser ohne jegliche Garantie und Gewährleistung keine Rückgabe!"

Well, the cockade is certainly not original to the helmet, but that's no biggie. The liner looks odd to me, but maybe that's the flash. As was pointed out, the 'no return' policy should put up a warning flag. Don't feel bad about passing this up, IMHO.
