Hello to all,
I found an ersatz felt pickelhauben with cupro alu fittings without liner, and this not so strange. The strange think is that loocking at the inner of the haube there aren't no evidence of existance of a liner, no stich holes on the circumference even looking with a good loop. The felt is in good condition and hard, so the doubt the holes are cover by the material is deleted.
The only sign visible inside the haube is a more or less constant mark (height 20 mm) all around the inner circumference.
On the Bowman (2nd volume) I found notice of late pickelhauben without liner but no other information. I found also that some liner in late ersatz was only glued instead stitched.
Someone of you have already seen something similar ?
Thank you in advance for your help
Franco
