Fielddrum Strap

Hello all,
I've been looking for a couple months now for any information about this strap and finally resorted to asking in this forum.
Does anyone have any information about the strap that wraps around the body of the drum? It has 2 hooks and only wraps about half way around the drum.
Seems to be leather with metal hooks but apart from photos which never show a different angle I have nothing else to go off of.
Any help is appreciated,

Hello Rei,

I believe that the strap is a carrying strap to sling the drum over your shoulder or back when you were not playing. The strap was wrapped around the body of the drum when not in use. I think it was about 60cm in length and had a single piece at one end that split into 2 pieces with clips as you see in the photos.
