Great Otto, most of the great stills we see are from moving picture frames, Rttm. von Richtofen was superstitious like most pilots of the time, and having your photo taken before take off was bad luck, it is often written that he had his photo taken before his last flight, and that heightened the superstition, but I suspect that he had his photo taken before nearly every flight near the end.
