While going through your ongoing draft, I noticed that your illustration of the Ottoman flag varies from one plate to the other when it comes to the tilting of the star versus the crescent (e.g. Plates 26, 27, 32, 39).
If I'm not mistaken--and this is something I learned from you obviously!--, what distinguishes the Ottoman flag from its post 1922 Turkish counterpart is the positioning of the star vis-a-vis the crescent as per the following:
