Flandernkreuz

Dear all,

Below are some pics of my latest aquisition, a Flandernkreuz. This represents a commemorative medal issued in 1921, during the Weimar republic, to remember the services of former members of the Marinekorps Flandern.

Overall, its shaped like a Prussian iron cross with at the front side a navel cross and the text Zur See, Zur Felde, Unbesiegt. At the reverse the Reichskriegsflagge is shown as well as the Flanders lion and Marinekorps. About 30000 copies of this medal were made so its quite rare nowadays.

Yesterday I also found a Flandernkreuz for not much. In fact it was a steal.
Ribbon is missing, but on German ebay I found a small lot of original ribbons, and a Baden feldspange , a ribbon for the Flandernkreuz is also in the lot. I hope I win this lot! The are also 2 Austrian ribbons and 3 WW2 german ribbons in the lot, I will sell those on.
