Reconditioned at one time? Lacquer inside of the visor, or is that something more 'normal' than I know of?

A 1915 Garde Tschapka here has a visor with a black underside; a pre-war line regiment helmet does, too.
 
I don't think it is lacquer, it is probably very thin leather on cardboard like material that has just flaked or cracked off.
 
Yes, I am the winner because it is the only all leather M15 not made by A. Dahl that I never seen in many years of collecting the prussian Tschapkas... it's really a (scarce) curiosity!

Do these helmets get the same Feldzeichen as the Shako, or are they somehow different?
