What exactly was a Flügeladjutant or Aide-de-camp? and for example how do you identify one?

This for example just looks like a M.1910 Officers Schirmmütze.....

Not about Schirmmützen of course...
J-L Larcade Volume One Chapter 3.

A Flügeladjutant was a personal adjutant (Aide de Camp) to a ruling Sovereign, Grand Duke, Duke or Fürst. The title originated from the days when the adjutants passed on orders to the flanks (Flügel) of an army.

By the way, that cap is not a WWI cap. The markings on the inside indicate a postwar dating (probably from the 1920s or later) and the cockades are mismatched. One is and officer's and one is an enlisted/NCO example.
