Flugzeugmechaniker?

Brett,

I am thinking perhaps the distinctive regimental insignia as worn by the 208. Infanterie-Division in the summer of 1917 and more specificially Infanterie-Reiment Nr. 185 which wore a white cross above a bar on the lower left sleeve. See Kraus volume 1, page 247.

Glenn,

I only have the original single volume Kraus, which I thumbed through when I first received the photo. Evidently it is time to upgrade to the current version.

Many thanks my learned friend,

Brett

P.S. This is stamped 10 Komp. Jnf. Regt. 185 - 208th Infanterie Division, November 1916.

Number 3 and Number 4 from the left with the moustaches would not scare me either on the battlefield. :) Okay, they would problably have me made POW, because I was crawling on my back on the ground, paralysed of laughing at the sight of these guys.

They may look goofy, but I would bet they could kick most of our butts with out getting winded.
Best Gus
