Otto -- Janet and I have a grand total of three Stein's. I have no clue about markings. There is an auction house.

Otto: Your stein is a Mettlach #2140. The 2 digit number in the lower right of the photo is the date of manufacture. On my monitor it looks like 94. If so the stein was made in 1894.
