Blurry photo, but it has better detail than on the repo plate I have. However, I've never seen fixtures like that... ? If interested, I'd ask for better photos...

Based on the one Helmut Weitze sold (late of the Cowan collection, I'm pretty sure), the attaching devices on eagles of this type are a pair of elongated, brass tabs (similar to a paper brad). They slide into loops on the exterior of the helmet shell.

The three round wires on the helmet plate up for auction are so long that they'd protrude past the bird's edges and be visible on the helmet. As there are only two loops on the front of the cloth-covered helmet, there is no third attaching device,of course.

The only other helmet plates I know of that have long wires like this are replicas. These wires look like the ones on plates that were being made in Poland in the last 5 or so years.

When I shared that with the seller, he simply replied, "Estate find."

I am in the restoration buisiness and during my training we visited a fair in the Netherlands about new restoration technics, tools, products and so on. The fair only takes place every 5 years in different places.
And I rememeber a stand having all sorts of things and a great variation (if not all!) of Wappen.
I unfortunatly didn't get to speak to anybody of the stand as there was nobody at the time I was there.
Also did't get to see the back's as they were mounted on a board.
I took a card in order to contact them, but when I tried they were vere vague about who was responsible for the production and I ended up no were....
And that was more then 15 years ago.
cheers

I forgot to mention that fixtures like that are also to be found on Belgian insigna's ment to be slided on the "bandeau"(don't know the correct word!) of the pith helmet.
