Would some of you know of the history of the 5th bavarian infantry regiment? I would like to know in which battles it was engaged in 1870-1871. I know, tough question...

They also fought at Wörth, which has a superb Denkmal. I have better photos from when I visited it, but here is a quick view.
I‘ve been there, too.

The old museum of the battle of Wörth has been restructured and can be visited again.

the "Historische Rang- und Stammliste des deutschen Heeres" by Claus von Bredow. Published in 1905, it covers all the contingents and gives such details as dates of formation, commanders, garrisons, details of colours and standards, battles/engagements etc., etc.
