I guess I based my judgement on the really clean look to the
baskside of the wappen. It just has that made yesterday look
to it. Also the way it was presented with the $196 "Buy it now"

So---Is it Fake or am I jumping to conclusions again?

I think it looks good, the shiny new look could be the fire gilt still showing.

That's a near mint Prussian Wappen for an Officers helmet. Nothing wrong with that... It's firegilt with polished edges, only these became a bit dull, so they should shine a bit more... like this one:
