Here is a nice looking French Gendarme M1912 helmet for sale. Overall finish is very good, I have not polished or tried to clean up. Plume is in good shape missing a few pieces here and there but does not detract from looks. Chinscales in great shape, connector leather is gone to time and held together with piece of wire. only a couple minor dents in shell you can barely see.

Size is 59 which is tamped into shell on back as well as maker mark.

Liner is all there showing age and use but still pliable.

price is a bargain at $750.00 and I will pay shipping in USA, international I will split shipping with buyer. Just realize shipping overseas has got out of hand, so please ask for shipping quote before buying.

Hello James,
This helmet is a model 1912 dismounted gendarme helmet (crest brush). The mounted gendarme has an extra mane.
 
One can definitely see the similarities between these gendarme helmets and the model 1915 French helmet.
