Hello Dear Colleagues,

The following question arises: if this felt helmet is from the 34th Regiment, as the name label would indicate, is the correct Wappen?

Piotr

As this is a Ersatz helmet, the special wappen of these rare regiments were very often replaced by the classic prussian line eagle , for the sake of simplicity.

Here is your guy, 5/FR34:

Thank you Philippe,
Your findings explain everything: Johann Konieczny from Wróblewo, Kreis Samter, today's Szamotuły in Poland, enlisted in FR 34, whose place of station from is 1890 city of Bromberg (today's Polish Bydgoszcz), 130 km from Wróblewo.
And your information that the special wappen of rare regiments were very often replaced by the classic Prussian line eagle is key.
Once again, thank you.
Piotr

Just curious has anyone ever seen a late model wappen for Fuesilier-Regiment Koenigin Viktoria von Schweden ( Pommersches) Nr. 34 on a wartime made helm?

I would be interested in seeing a picture current or wartime just for information's sake.

Love the personal info on the soldier, that's priceless for collectors and well done. (y)
