I submit my meager assessment of this helmet based on what i've learned reading in this forum:

1. Kokarden obviously repros
2. chinstrap looks new, and its odd that its a 1915 but has brass buckle
3. the edges of the plate look "sharp", implying a stamped copy/repro

the helmet shell and spine seem ok.

Assessment: a helmet body of what could've been anything that's been trussed up to look like a Garde.

How did i do, masters?

The seller says it all
Not manny or even not one seems a complete original one
There is always something not good on his helmets

The seller says that the Kokarden and chinstrap are replacements. Curious why he didn't get a steel replacement instead of brass, but at least he's not trying to hide it. I would reserve judgement on the Wappen plate. It doesn't have much detail and the edges are sharp, but I would not call it bad until I saw the reverse side. Some Wappen were less detailed than others, depends on manufacturer. Even if the Wappen proved original I believe this is over-priced. This dealer is typically high in prices and has proven in the past to be, let's say, less than trustworthy.
