Garde Reiter helmet restored

Not long ago I bought this beautiful Garde Reiter helmet from 1915.
Unfortunately the helmet suffered from so-called copper corrosion and had once been treated by a scoundrel with an acid or something similar, which left a matt, dull layer with many streaks.
Fortunately a friend and restorer of mine took the helmet in hand (the helmet also appeared to have been mistreated with a kind of varnish layer...) and managed to restore it to its full glory!..
A nice detail is that during the removal of the parts, the spike appears to be manually numbered 159 and therefore corresponds to the helmet which is machine stamped 159.
The helmet did need to be polished again to remove all the corrosion, so it still shines a bit, but hopefully it will have its patina back within a year.
Now I can finally fully enjoy this great helmet.

Now first some photos from before.....
