Nice overall although not M15 :)
But if this is a grouping, how come the Visor Hat (further down in the photos) has a black centerband and not red?

It's a late war production fibre helmet...
Artillerie, Pioniere And Verkehrstruppen had a black band...

Hey Karel,
I've asked that question before but why didn't all late war models adhere to the M15 regulations (removable spike & chinscales)?

I seem to remember this helmet up for sale before, newspaper looks familiar. Seeing the crown's cross under the spike base is simply PAINFUL to look at.

Because officers had to buy their own material, including their helmets. Regulations were not followed always strictly, maybe the owner had another helmet with removable spike and chinscales and used this one for other purposes as parade, walking out,... I guess we'll never know...

That's probably caused by taking the dive...

Very cool helmet! Scarce late fabrication. :thumb up:
I know this seller, I´ve bought from him last month the other haube that can be seen on a few picts behind the garde helmet (second and fifth pict from the bottom), the Landwehr Kavallerie officer helmet von Rittmeister Bertram von Hobe, Baron von Gelting. \:D/
This Garde helmet has never been offered before, it has been found with my helmet and two other officer helmets at the beginning of 2013 in Burg Unkel, an old Rhine castle near the city of Remagen. Family Trimborn lived there for a long time and two Trimborn cousines get married (1900-1905) with two cousins of the von Hobe family from Gelting (Schleswig-Holstein). It explains the place of found of those four von Hobes helmets.
I will soon post here some picts of the Bertram von Hobe helmet that is now mine!

So logically and for conservation and history preservation purposes, Philippe should have a head start on the eBay helmet!

Not that I'm planning to bid myself since (1) it would be too expensive for me, not to mention the Euro conversion, and (2) I'd rather wait for an M15 Guard Officer haube to show-up for less than $1,500 :-" :-" :-"

An M15 Guard Off. like Spiker's for instance... that is one beauty!! =P~

Ron, after I bought the first helmet, I had a very good communication with this guy and he told me he has 3 more haubes. :o He was so kind to send me all those picts before the helmet came on ebay. I could help him a very little for description, because spikies do not matter for him... :???:
However, I have myself no interest in this beauty because I already have a good one :-"

And the seller does not accept to sell out of ebay. He told me, before this guard helmet was on ebay, someone told him this helmet is not worth more than 1000 Euro... [-X
Personally, I think this great grouping will reach the 3000 Euro marking very very easily....And maybe much more...

That would be nice with this uniform...

Karel, great uniform and presentation! =D>
But the helmet would not fit. It is from the old officer pattern (pre 1880) and has been worn between 1879 and 1902...Before the feldgrau was born.... :)
I´ll post some picts soon!

So it'll be back for sale for at least 25% more of what was already a fairly high price...

Arghhhhhh! I wish I could go back to the 90s when I was touring militaria shows and passing on pickelhaubes that were selling for $300!! :-x

Or take Ron's time machine and travel back to the War Bond bonanza! :P

Oh yeah, I saw that too :o
The dunkelblaue Mütze was also a part of this castle found....It has been completely cleaned and both cockades have get changed. It was a Landwehr or Reserve Mütze. Now it is a Mütze for an active Officer :x It fits better to the story of Leutnant von Held..
Big fraud!!! I asked Mr Weitze about that, never got an answer...Just look:

Before:

And after:
