Picked this up yesterday, a friend had it in his collection for a while then decided he would pass it on. Nice condition, the paper with the name was once stuck to the top of the filter.

Hi,

The wearer was certainly a bavarian. Is there a possibility to decypher the company number? Maybe N°5? There are not a lot Peter RAHM in the Verlust-Listen (4 guys), all are bavarian.

This is the best I can do, it's hard to make out and quite faded as the top edge was once over the edge of the filter canister. It looks like it may be 2 company, Any insight into what regiment Peter belonged to would be much appreciated

It seems to be a number "5" on this pict....

Peter RAHM, 5/ KB RJR15, wounded three times, two times lightly (May and September 1915), the third time, seriously (May 1916)...

Thanks for the comments and information, I really appreciate it. I am so pleased to have been able to add this mask to my collection and having some background information on the original owner is fantastic.
Thanks for your interest
Andrew
