Hi, I have just way
tched the film 'The Blue Max' there is one scene when George Peppard is sitting in the generals house playing a drum in a room full of Military Uniforms suits of armour etc and he is wearing a Pickelhaube which he takes off.
Unfortunately the quality of the stills are not very good and it does appear that the chinstrap is loose where the one on my pickelhaube is fixed. There is a table in the room full of Picklehaubes of all description but again cannot get enough detail to see.
I am fairly sure it is a film prop, the seller did indicate that it may have been used in the film 'Those Magnificent men in their Flying Machines. I had a look at some stills from the film and th one Gert froebe was wearing appears to have a gilt Wappen and fittings, but I will still persevere.
